ENTERTAINMENT ON A SATURDAY NIGHT 2008
WE ARE NOW BEGINNING TO ARRANGE THE FUN DAY ON AUGUST BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY.
WE RECENTLY HAD THE MAY ( WHITSUN ) FUN DAY, BUT THE REALLY MAJOR ONE IS IN AUGUST.
WOULD YOU LIKE TO HAVE YOUR OWN STALL ?, OR PERHAPS YOU MIGHT HAVE THOUGHTS ON WHAT TYPE OF STALL OR SIDE-SHOW YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEE ?
IF SO, WHY NOT SEND US A MAIL ? SO FAR, DARTS; BOUNCY CASTLE AND BOTTLE STALL ARE GUARANTEED..............BUT THERE WILL BE MORE, MUCH, MUCH MORE. THE LADIES SUPPORT GROUP, TOGETHER WITH THE ENTERTAINMENT SECRETARY ARE MEETING TO DISCUSS THE DETAILS. YOUR OPINION IS IMPORTANT !. AFTER ALL, ITS YOUR DAY.

SUNDAY NIGHTS
Every Sunday night the members enjoy a game of Bingo in the Concert Room. Starting at 8.30pm, finishing about 11.00pm, with the bar closing at 10.30pm. Two flyers are played, with the first one being a JACKPOT House. Two more are sold and then two more. We then sell a book of four, again, the first one being a JACKPOT. On the back of the book, people put their name and the tickets go into a draw for £5.
A Jackpot, once won, and it can only be won by a member ( non members once signed in can play and win the Lines and the Houses, but not Jackpots ), starts at £20 and is won if the house is called in, or less than 45 numbers. If not won, then each figure increases by one. ie, if not won after, say, 6 weeks, the amount increases to £25 and 50 numbers.
After this, a version of Open the Box is drawn, where members and guests can buy £1 tickets and a draw takes place, usually but not guaranteed, the winner (who opens the box) gets, say, £50 and the two runners up £20 each.
Then, the final session of Bingo is for a book of four and a Flyer. Quite often this flyer is for a Line of £15 and a Full House of £100 PLUS.
